JOHN COOKSEY, MD, FACS - John Cooksey, MD, FACS - received his M.D. from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA, in 1966. Immediately following his internship at the Confederate Memorial Medical Center in Shreveport, LA, Dr. Cooksey served as a Flight Surgeon for the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1969.  After completing his military service, he began studying ophthalmology. Following a three-year residency program, he established his private practice in Monroe, LA in October of 1972. Knowing that continuing education is critical in order to keep up with the rapidly changing tide of medical knowledge, Dr. Cooksey has completed 67 medical classes and seminars within the last 22 years, as well as earning an Executive MBA in 1994 from the University of Texas.
