JASON READ, MD - is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and laser surgery including LASIK.  He is a VISX certified refractive surgeon.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude in Biological Engineering from Mississippi State University.  He received his M.D. degree from the University of Mississippi in 1997.  After completing his Internal Medicine internship followed by his ophthalmology residency at University Medical Center in Jackson, he entered private practice in 2001.  He received additional training at Stanford University, Basic Science Course in Ophthalmology.  He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and also served as Medical Advisor for Preserve Sight Mississippi.
