The Arctic Peel is a mild laser skin resurfacing procedure that is used to improve the texture, color and tightness of the skin on the face. This treatment offers significant improvement to the appearance of sun damaged or mildly wrinkled skin without any recovery period and with very little discomfort.

Dr. Cooksey uses the Sciton Erbium Profile Laser for this treatment. This exciting laser can be precisely programmed to remove only the stratum corneum, the outer 10 microns of the surface of the skin. The laser scans the skin before treating the area and automatically modulates the laser, providing precise placement of the area and depth of the treatment. Additionally, cold air is blown over the surface of the skin by a device called the Zimmer Air Chiller, which removes residual heat caused by the laser and minimizes any discomfort.
