BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, non-surgical procedure that can smooth moderate or severe frown lines between the brows, forehead and crow’s feet. A few tiny injections of a purified protein produced by the Clostridium Botulinum Bacterium, relax the muscles that contract to form the frown line and reduce the activity of those muscles for up to four months. Improvement can be seen within just a few days, and there is no recovery period.

Although results vary, clinical trials showed that nearly 90% of men and women who received the treatment rated the improvement of their frown lines as moderate to better. Improvement was seen after only a few days and lasted for up to four months, although length of effect was also affected by individual differences.

People interested in the procedure should be between the ages of 18 and 65; although anyone with an infection in the injection area, who is allergic to any of the ingredients in BOTOX® Cosmetic, or who is pregnant, breastfeeding, or plans to become pregnant, should not receive the injections.
