How is Restylane different from Botox?
Botox is a drug that blocks nerve transmission and relaxes underlying muscles, decreasing moderate to severe wrinkles. This is an excellent procedure for decreasing or even eliminating frown lines between the brows, but is not recommended for other areas on the face. Restylane is a natural cosmetic filler and can be used on all areas of the face.
Will my facial expressiveness be affected?
Restylane is a natural dermal filler that does not affect the musculature or expressiveness of the face in any way.
How long will the Restylane last?
Studies have shown that the average treatment results last six months or longer, which is twice as long as injections of bovine collagen.
Is the procedure painful?
Because a Restylane treatment involves only a few tiny injections with a superfine needle, the procedure involves very little discomfort and no down time. Occasionally redness and swelling at the injection site is reported, but these effects, when they occur, typically resolve within two to three days.
